Warren Strickland appointed to Hunting Advisory Board

MEMBER OF GORE FIELD STAFF TO SHAPE FUTURE OF HUNTING IN ALABAMA

Governor Bob Riley has appointed Warren Strickland to serve on the Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Board. The appointment becomes effective May 21, 2005 and will carry a six-year term.

The Conservation Advisory Board assists and advises on matters relating to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources including the state's wildlife, fisheries, state parks, marine resources and lands. The Board is composed of 10 members appointed by the governor for alternating terms of six years.

For years, Strickland has been a member of W. L. Gore & Associates' hunting advisory council. The group has been a key part of the company's efforts to better serve the hunting community. The team provides Gore with valuable knowledge of what hunters really want from their gear, and how it should perform.

The Gore hunting pro staff is made up of a cross-section of experts, from bowhunters seeking the trophy whitetail, to big-game hunters looking for the ultimate adventure. In addition to Dr. Strickland, the team of hunting advisers includes Bob Foulkrod, Jim Hole, Jeff Hopkins, Chuck Jones, Greg Miller, Walter Parrott, Stan Potts, Bob Robb, Ted Jaycox, Brenda Valentine, and Rod White.

"We are proud of Dr. Strickland's appointment as well as his involvement with Gore," states Brad Yeomans, Gore Sales Account Manager. "His level of commitment to hunting and the passion with which he pursues everything in life dovetails perfectly with the values we share as a company."
